Following the landslide in March that caused significant damage to road infrastructure and homes in Lumi, West Sepik Province, local businesses have stepped forward to support the Sandaun Provincial Administration\u2019s efforts to restore critical services.<\/p>\n
In response to an invitation to assist, Frieda River Limited has provided vital support to affected communities by supplying clean drinking water infrastructure.<\/p>\n
FRL purchased four 5,000\u2011litre Tuffa water tanks to help ensure continued access to safe and reliable drinking water for families impacted by the disaster.<\/p>\n
Earlier this week, the water tanks were formally delivered to the Sandaun Governor\u2019s Office, where they will be handed over for distribution to the affected communities in Lumi.<\/p>\n
This support reflects FRL\u2019s ongoing commitment to community resilience during times of crisis.<\/p>\n
In 2023 and 2024, FRL similarly responded to the Mid\u2011Sepik earthquake, when damage and contamination rendered local water sources unsafe.<\/p>\n
On both occasions, the company provided water tanks to help communities maintain access to clean water while recovery efforts were underway.<\/p>\n
With the situation in Lumi presenting similar challenges, FRL has once again extended its support, working alongside government and community partners to address urgent needs and contribute to recovery efforts.<\/p>\n
